Welcome to Linguistics at Macquarie, one of the largest and most diverse Linguistics Departments in Australia, and very possibly internationally. The Department supports undergraduate, postgraduate coursework and postgraduate research degrees students, both domestically, internationally and by distance. Five research centres of international standing and five clinical and other groups operate collaboratively to foster a dynamic, inter-disciplinary teaching and research environment.

A new interactive website launched this Australia Day is the first publicly accessible resource to detail information about the formation of the Australian accent and how it has evolved.
