Profile

Caroline is a post doctoral researcher in the CLSL. She is interested in the linguistic representation of self, in particular how the meanings speakers make in wordings become the marker for the emergence and maintenance of self. Her doctoral thesis (2006) investigated the complex tale of self in psychotherapy.
Caroline continues her interdisciplinary engagement in her current work on a 3 year NHMRC funded project with David Butt and Alison Moore in collaboration with Conversational Model psychiatrists at Westmead Hospital. The project is titled “What’s in a conversation: discourse correlates of therapeutic concepts in the Conversational Model of Psychotherapy”.
