Archives and Data

The Centre holds a large amout of video, audio and text based data in a secure archive and is currently constructing a database of linguistic analysis. Some data is available to centre members and associates subsequent to ethics clearance.

CLSL is a member of the multi-national register analysis programme initiated by Dr. Elke Teich. This project has a long history which has involved a network of researchers from around the world. You can read more about the register project.

CLSL Reading Space

There are a large number of books, journals, preprints, magazines and other materials available for reading within the CLSL reading space lounges located in room 441 of building C5A. Reading Space materials may not be removed from the Centre but these materials may be read on site. Like much of the centre, the reading space is a multifunctional space and is also used for meetings, discussion groups, tutorials and seminars.

CLSL Virtual Meeting Space

The Centre for Language in Social Life hosts a virtual meeting room for members. Members may use the Centre's Adobe Connect meeting room which hosts up to 3 people and provides screen sharing, audiovisual, chat, shared notes and shared whiteboard.

CLSL Teaching Resources

Centre members have been involved in a number of different courses at both the undergraduate and postgraduate level. Many of the materials developed for these courses are available through the Centre's Blackboard site. Once allocated to the CLSL site, Centre members may access the site using their Blackboard user name and password. As well as providing teaching materials and resources, Blackboard also provides a venue for group discussion.
