The lexicology of German modal particles: implications for lexicography and second language teaching

Dr Möllering will analyse the treatment of modal particles in general and learners' dictionaries and discuss the form of the particles, their contexts of use, and applications in second language teaching. A main focus of the seminar will be the value of corpus data in disambiguating the meaning of modal particles and reference will be made to the use of corpus data in CALL (computer-assisted language learning).
