Master of Applied Linguistics with a specialisation in LSP
The Master of Applied Linguistics with a specialisation in LSP has been designed to explore the increasing use of English as a medium of instruction across all levels of education, the worldwide demand for English proficiency in the globalising workplace, and the ways in which language use is specialised in such domains. The core subjects are internationally relevant and focus on the development of skills for analysing language as related to context and purpose, understanding the ways in which language learning is related to context and purpose, and understanding and designing research in these areas. This specialisation appeals especially to language professionals working, or aiming to work in the areas of language teaching (especially English for Specific Purposes, academic literacies, and languages other than English), curriculum development, and materials design.
