Postgraduate Certificate in Managing Language Programs

Admission requirements

An undergraduate degree with at least one year full time or equivalent language teaching experience.

Length of candidature: 0.5 year full-time, 1 year or more part-time

Attendance: By distance, online or on campus alternate years

Some units may be completed online

Commencement: March, July

Course requirements: 3 units, 12 pg credit points

This course is designed to meet the needs of language teaching professionals who wish to take up management roles or develop their management skills in language teaching programs. It provides participants with the knowledge and skills they require for successful language program management in a variety of language teaching contexts.

The three units which make up the Certificate are:

LING918 Concepts in managing language programs
LING938 Curriculum Change in TESOL
LING960 Organisational communication

Satisfactory performance in the three units of the Certificate can be accepted as advanced standing of 12 credit points towards the Master of Applied Linguistics (Language Program Management) or towards other versions of the Master of Applied Linguistics.

NOTE: Applications forms for entry into any strands of the Master of Applied Linguistics must be submitted by the relevant application deadlines.
