This course prepares graduates for the profession of Audiology, enabling them to work clinically with individuals with congenital or acquired hearing loss. The course is taught by staff within the Faculty of Human Sciences and is based in the Centre for Language Sciences. Coursework covers normal auditory and language processes, building on fundamental knowledge in linguistics, psychology, anatomy and physiology. In addition, students engage in comprehensive supervised clinical placements, which provide them with the opportunity to develop skills in assessment, intervention, service delivery and other aspects of professional practice. The course incorporates the Professional Standards of Practice, which have been established by the Audiological Society of Australia the national professional body.
