Entry Requirements

POSTGRADUATE DIPLOMA IN EDITING AND PUBLISHING

The program is offered to editors and others engaged in the publishing industry or with experience of comparable publications work in a government department, private corporations, or on a newspaper or magazine. Applicants should have:

  • A Bachelor's degree or equivalent in any field. This criterion may be waived for applicants who can demonstrate very substantial experience under (b).

  • At least three to four years experience in editing, producing documents for publications, or in other areas of publishing or publicity.

  • If choosing online units, students will need to be able to use an internet browser. Basic computer and internet skills are assumed, but help with Internet management is available .

  • For non-native speakers of English, competence in the English language should be reflected in a TOEFL score of at least 600 or an IELTS score of 7 (with a minimum of 7 in the reading and writing sections), or by having already graduated from an English-speaking university.

POSTGRADUATE CERTIFICATE IN EDITING

  • A Bachelor's degree or equivalent in any field is required. This requirement may be waived for applicants who have had very substantial experience in editing and publishing.

  • The course is designed for professionals in editing and publishing. Students are expected to have had one or more years experience in editing, producing documents for publication, or in other areas of journalism, publishing and publicity.

  • If choosing the online course, students will need to be able to use an Internet browser. Basic computer and internet skills are assumed, but help with internet management is available.
  • For non-native speakers of English, competence in the English language should be reflected in a TOEFL score of at least 600 or an IELTS score of 7 (with a minimum of 7 in the reading and writing sections), or by having already graduated from an English-speaking university.
