Course Structure

Course Code: MSPCHPATH 94
Length of Candidature: 2 Years full-time
Attendance: Students will be required to attend day classes as well as clinical placements during semester and semester breaks
Commencement Date: February
Availability: There will be a new intake every year

Admission Requirements:

  1. A Bachelor of Speech and Hearing Sciences from Macquarie University or an equivalent degree from an Australian or overseas tertiary institution.

  2. Ideally, we are seeking students with a strong academic record and a credit average in the applicant's undergraduate degree.

  3. Applicants with degrees in other areas will be considered on an individual basis; some qualifying coursework may be required.

  4. Speech Pathology applicants are also required to submit a personal statement which should indicate:
  • Understanding of Speech Pathology as practised in Australia
  • Relevant personal experience of Speech Pathology or related fields
  • Explanation of any factors that are relevant to the application

Due to the clinical nature of this program, spaces are limited, therefore, entry is competitive. Meeting eligibility criteria does not guarantee a place in the program.

 

For domestic students, the Master of Speech & Language Pathology program is approved for means tested support via Youth Allowance (for full time students aged 16-24 years) and Austudy (for full time students aged 25 years and over). Further information can be found at the following links:
