Entry Requirements

This program is offered only to continuing students. No new admissions will be accepted.

The M.Sc. is normally be taken over two years part-time.  The degree is only available in distance mode.

All applicants will be considered, but ideally applicants should hold a good first degree (or equivalent qualification) with at least a credit average in Linguistics, Psychology or Computer Science or a related area of study.

The program has no specific pre-requisites.

Students who are particularly interested in speech science and phonetics are likely to have an undergraduate background in areas such as linguistics, language studies, music or drama (particularly vocal studies) or psychology.

Students who wish to specialise in language processing may ideally have had some exposure to computer science at undergraduate level although this is not essential. Students with a Linguistics background are also encouraged to consider this option.

Please note that this program does not have a mid-year intake.
