TRANSLATION AND INTERPRETING PRACTICUM

The translation and interpreting practicum provides students with the opportunity to experience, understand and gain familiarity with the professional world of translation and interpreting. Practicum activities for both translation and interpreting comprise seminars with invited speakers from the industry and the profession, fieldwork placements and practical tasks and assignments. The Auslan/English interpreting practicum is structured slightly differently due to the nature of the work and the external delivery mode. The practicum component of TRAN816, TRAN820, TRAN821 & TRAN822 is compulsory for students enrolled in those units in the Postgraduate Diploma or Masters of Translating and Interpreting. Failure to meet the requirements of the practicum will result in a Fail grade for the unit. For more detailed information about the practicum please follow the links below:
