Fees

Fees

In 2009 there are two different categories of tuition fees:

  1. Domestic Students – refers to Australian citizens and permanent residents and New Zealand citizens.

  2. International Students

The table below shows the fees per credit point for the various Postgraduate programs offered through the Linguistics Department as well as the total program costs.

If you are a Permanent Resident or Citizen of Australia, you may be eligible for financial support through the Higher Education Loan Program (FEE-HELP).

Distance and local students pay each semester only for the number of units on which they are enrolled in that semester.

International students, on-campus, initially are required to pay half the total program tuition fee up-front.

### DAPPLING/DPROFCOM Fee Structure

Example fees are quoted in Australian dollars at the international student rate.  Domestic fees are charged at the rates of $500 per credit point (coursework) and $15,750 per annum (or equivalent part time).  Fees invoices are generated each semester.

The fees are divided into two components as described below:

Coursework Component (32 credit points)-  fees (2009)

You are charged at a "per credit point" rate during the coursework component.  Standard progression would be to undertake 8 credit points in a given semester. Candidates are charged only for the units they are taking during that period. The coursework totals 32 credit points x $650 per credit point = AU$20,800.  Standard progressions would be to enrol on 8cpts each semester x AU$650 per credit point = AU$5200 per semester.

Research Component - fees (2009)

The research component is time based and is charged at an annual rate.  As the research is workplace based, we expect all candidates to be working in the area, so enrolled with us part-time. Both full time and part time options are outlined below:

Full time research

AU$20,520 per annum; $10,260 per semester x 4 semesters (2yrs full time min) = AU$41,040*

Part time research

AU$10,260 per annum; $5,130 per semester x 8 semesters (4 yrs part time min) = AU$41,040*

International student (Total Program cost)

Coursework AU$20,800 + *Research AU$41,040 = AU$61,840

Domestic student (Total Program cost) – applies to Australian Citizens, Australian Permanent Residents and New Zealand citizens only.

Coursework AU$16,000 + Research AU$31,500* = AU$47,500

* If you go overtime on the research component and require an extension, then you will incur additional fees pro-rated for that period of time.
