Admission requirements (MPhil)

To be eligible for consideration for admission, an applicant must normally possess a Bachelor degree with first-class or second-class honours from a recognised university or other tertiary institution, or other evidence of significant research ability. Before offering admission, the Faculty has to be satisfied that it can provide adequate supervision and facilities for the applicants. The minimum period of candidature is one year full-time or two years part-time and the maximum period of candidature is two years full-time or four years part-time. The designation as a full-time or part-time candidate is made after an assessment of the extent of the candidate's commitments other than those related to the program of study. The program of study is mainly by research, although some coursework requirements may be included. Examination is by thesis.
