Description

This unit introduces you to principles and methods for evaluating communication. The focus of the unit is on understanding the processes of discourse in organisations and professions through exploration of communication products (texts) in relation to the systemic context of the organisation or profession (system) which engender them. An action plan for communication research is developed, examples of analyses are discussed and you have the opportunity to evaluate a communication issue in your own context.

Students will need to demonstrate how the content of the unit contributes to or can be incorporated into their proposed doctoral research area.
