The policy statement on Plagiarism is a cornerstone of academic integrity at Macquarie University. All students are responsible for familiarising themselves with the policy, seeking further advice if necessary and following it at all times.
The relationship between a postgraduate research candidate and her/his supervisor is necessarily rather flexible, and may have various functions, but a good working relationship between candidate and supervisor is a significant factor in the successful completion of a supervised research degree. The Code of Supervisory Conduct is in place to ensure that a candidate maintains satisfactory progress, that appropriate advice on the content and form of the thesis is offered; and that work towards the thesis is subject to regular and constructive critical review
