Important Processes :: Absences

How do I inform the University of absences due to illness or other factors outside my control that have affected my attendance record or participation in assessments?

If you have been unable to attend classes or you have missed assignments or tests during semester due to illness or other factors outside your control, you need to inform the University so that your lecturer can take this into consideration.

Note

Advice of Absence only applies during semester. If you experience adverse circumstances during the formal exam period you need to apply for Special Consideration .

Things to consider before applying

The Advice of Absence form must be submitted by or before the last day of classes each semester. In the case of illness, it must be accompanied by a Professional Authority Form or a medical certificate.

Notification of outcome

Contact the Lecturer-in-Charge directly.
