Labour market for T&I professionals

Introduction

For the benefit of former, current and future students, the Centre for Translation and Interpreting Research at Macquarie University has recently began collecting information on working conditions for translators and interpreters in various countries around the world. The first batch of texts describing labour conditions has been produced by students in the Research Methods course.

Not many T&I websites provide information about labour market world-wide and translators and interpreters entering the profession have to rely on word of mouth or advertisements. We hope to contribute to filling this gap at least for some countries. We would also like to encourage the readers of this page to send us more information, as well as links to other websites with this type of information so that we can update our page for the benefit of all involved in T&I. If you would like to contribute some relevant information about working conditions in your country or send us a link to a website that contains such information, please click on the following link Ctir@ling.mq.edu.au
