Assessment of patterns of teacher-student interactions in sign language-inclusive classrooms
The aim of this project is to conduct a pilot of classroom-based research methodology to assess teacher-student interactions in classrooms where deaf students are included in regular classrooms with sign language interpreters.
Understanding healthcare interpreters in Australia: What do they report as their perceptions on their role and their behaviours during their practice?
An international collaborative project to administer an Interpersonal Role Inventory to healthcare interpreters throughout Australia, with funding from a Macquarie University Research Development Grant.
Comprehension of courtroom discourse: How do deaf and hearing people compare?
A project funded through a Macquarie University New Staff Grant to extend an earlier pilot study and administer a comprehension test to deaf and hearing jurors in three major Australian cities.
Perceptions of sign language interpreting in court and the potential impact of the presence of deaf jurors
A project funded through the Macquarie University DVC-Research Discretionary Fund to build on earlier studies regarding deaf jurors, and administer an international online survey to legal professionals and sign langauge interpreters in English speaking countries.
