Bachelor of Science
The Bachelor of Science is one of the major "generic" degrees at Macquarie University. Majors can be taken in this degree from many Divisions at Macquarie University. This page only deals with "Programs of Study" (also known as "coherent studies" or "coherencies") offered by the Department of Linguistics. Coherent Studies
1. Language & Speech
Obtain an aggregate of at least 68 credit points, including at least 38 credit points in units at 200 level or above, and at least 34 credit points in units at 200 level or above which are designated as science units, and at least 18 credit in units at 300 level or above which are designated science units and must also include the following coherent study:
At least 12 credit points from LING317- LING320, SPH301 - SPH307
2. Grammar & Social Meaning
Obtain an aggregate of at least 68 credit points, including at least 38 credit points in units at 200 level or above, and at least 34 credit points in units at 200 level or above which are designated as science units, and at least 18 credit in units at 300 level or above which are designated science units and must also include the following coherent study:
At least 8 credit points from LING317 - LING320, with 4 credit points from PSY303, PSY321, PSY325, PSY334
3. Linguistics & Cognitive Psychology
Obtain an aggregate of at least 68 credit points, including at least 38 credit points in units at 200 level or above, and at least 34 credit points in units at 200 level or above which are
designated as science units, and at least 18 credit in units at 300 level or above which are designated science units and must also include the following coherent study:
At least 12 credit points from SPH units, with 4 credit points from PSY303, PSY315, PSY321
4. Linguistics & Computing
Obtain an aggregate of at least 68 credit points, including at least 38 credit points in units at 200 level or above, and at least 24 credit points in units at 200 level which are designated science units, and at least 18 credit in units at 300 level or above which are designated science units and must also include the following coherent study.
At least 12 credit points from LING317 - LING320 and SPH301, together with COMP329 and one of COMP348 and COMP349
